About me

Dan is an experienced and dedicated Production Manager who has worked on numerous shows and events across London and the UK. Having undertaken numerous technical roles across various disciplines he is highly adept at understating the various needs and pressures on different departments, balancing these to create the best productions possible, whilst staying on budget and on target.

Dan graduated from Durham University with a Masters in Engineering in 2015, but whilst there spent two years as president of one of the largest theatre societies in the UK, Durham Student Theatre (DST), with over 700 members, 70 shows produced each year and around 26 theatre companies. Alongside this he took on the management and development responsibility for the 175-seat Assembly Rooms Theatre, looking after not only the DST shows but also numerous external theatre companies.

When moving to London Dan spent three years in the corporate world working for Transport for London as an innovation advisor working with some of the biggest transport start-ups on TfL’s behalf. Leaving TfL and taking his people management and relationship skills with him, Dan went full-time freelance and has worked on productions at venues including the Charing Cross Theatre, Park Theatre, Yard Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Southwark Playhouse, and Trafalgar Studios.

Dan has also worked on numerous festivals and events, most recently as Deputy Head of Lighting for The Warren at the Brighton Fringe Festival, taking responsibility for the headline venue whilst overseeing the lighting requirements of the additional four venues on the site. He has also previously production managed the Durham Drama Festival and Durham Festival of the Arts, each taking place in ten separate venues across Durham City centre, including the historic Durham Cathedral and Castle.

Dan prides himself on his dedication and delivery, and works hard to ensure that the best possible production is delivered time after time, as many of his previous clients will attest to. Having worked at many different scales and budgets he knows intuitively what can be achieved and how much it will cost, and is always able to advise on how best to spend to ensure the best looking and running production. He is also highly adept at working with numerous stakeholders to deliver all aspects of a production.

Dan is also a freelance venue technician for the Streatham Space Project, The Lindbury Theatre at the Royal Opera House, Camden People’s Theatre, and The Cockpit.

Dan delivers his theatre work as part of eStage group, for more information about their work please go here.
